Bill Ganzel. One-room schoolhouse, formerly district no. 112, on the Ted Christensen farm, a quarter mile from its original site. Lancaster County, Nebraska, May 1976
"I was on the school board in 1966 when the school was closed and the district joined Raymond Central Public School. We moved the building up here to our place in the fall of ’67 or the spring of ’68.
"I think it’s a much better education for the youngsters now, a lot more chances to learn more different things than they get in a country school, although the country schools were good and served their purposes. If they had a good teacher, why, they were a good school. My family moved around a lot when I was a youngster, and when you went to a new school, you almost could count on a fight the first day or the second day. They didn’t care too much for strangers, but after that was over with, then you got along all right.
"We just use the building to store a little hay and straw in is all now."
