Anti-Slavery Pamphlet

In the United States, the debate over annexation was inextricably bound up in the rising furor over slavery--or, more precisely, over expansion of the power of slaveholding states in Congress. Abolitionists sometimes were as extreme in their views as were slave owners. This pamphlet levels the accusation that not just annexation, but the Texas revolution itself, was a conspiracy that had as its direct aim the expansion of slavery.
