3. Native Ground

Colombia is located in the northwest corner of the South American continent, with coastlines on both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. It is approximately one and two-thirds the size of Texas. High mountains, dense jungles, and watery plains make up much of the terrain. The people of this territory, unlike the Aztecs of Mexico or Incas of Peru, were not unified under one leader, but communities did have considerable contact with one another.
