Give me the liberty to know, to utter, and to argue freely according to conscience, above all other liberties.
-John Milton, Areopagitica
In 553 A.D. Pope Justinian forbade all versions of the Bible except in Latin or Greek. Since that time, the Bible has
been censored repeatedly, almost always to protect the "one true faith." This has at times meant keeping the Bible out of the hands of the faithful and out of the language that they understand.
