THE CRUCIBLE
Arthur Miller

Because of objections to information about witchcraft and the occult, accounts of the Salem witch trials have been expurgated from some recent editions of American history texts.
Arthur Miller's play about these trials has also been challenged:
"Public schools have no right to give the devil
equal time with God."
"It contains sick words from the mouths of
demon-possessed people. It should be wiped
out of the schools or the school board should
use them to fuel the fires of hell. The guy who
wrote that book should not be able to be a writer."
