MAPA DE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DE MEJICO John Distunell, 1847 Cartographic History Library University of Texas at Arlington The treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo, which concluded the war between Mexico and the United States (1846-48), cited this map by John Disturnell in establishing continental boundaries. A direct copy of a map first published in 1828 and therefore twenty years out of date, the map was erroneous in its placement of the border. Nevertheless, it became the official arbiter of the new territorial lines. El tratado Guadalupe-Hidalgo que se firmó al finalizar la guerra entre México y los Estados Unidos (1846-48) se basó en la autoridad del mapa de John Disturnell para fijar las nuevas fronteras.
