Pistrinum (A Bakery)

This is one of some forty bakeshops unearthed at Pompeii. At the time of destruction, it was owned by a man named Papirius Sabinus, who probably lived on the second floor above the shop. Bakeries produced a variety of breads, pastries, and even dog biscuits.
