Cavalry Officer and Horse

Cavalry troops were found in almost equal numbers with chariots. The cavalrymen stand as if for imperial review, each rider in front of his mount. The saddle horse weighs over 500 pounds. It was built up of clay coils, the hollow head and torso supported on solid legs. Each horse was fitted with a bronze bridle, but this is the only one to have been successfully reassembled.
