Clay Army in situ

In 1974, less than a mile from the First Emperor's grave, Chinese farmers digging wells uncovered a vast subterranean vault strewn with life-size clay warriors and soldiers. Further excavation has yielded the astonishing discovery of over 7,000 terra cotta men, horses, and chariots created to escort the First Emperor to his grave. The warriors and soldiers are arranged in a specific military formation.
