Four-Ram Wine Container, Anyang period, ca. 1300-1030 BC.
This astonishing wine container is a brilliantly integrated design, as well as a tour de force of casting. The smoothly modeled bodies and legs of four rams in high relief that form the body of the vessel are further articulated with a number of realistic and imaginary motifs: four horned dragons lie coiled around the shoulder of the vessel, and the rams' bodies are decorated with tall crested birds.
